What makes you or your business stand out and why should a couple hire you?
ECE is the fastest and best clearinghouse for pricing and availability information on multiple bands and DJs. It’s free to look, and many of the region’s top bands book exclusively through ECE, so without sending an email to us, you might miss out on even knowing that your perfect band not only exists but is available!

What’s a weird/unusual tip you tell your couples?
When we send a proposal (often within minutes of being contacted), we include available bands with their prices, videos, song lists, references, and links to third-party review sites like WeddingWire. In order to not get overwhelmed with information overload, watch each band’s video, ignore the other stuff, and make a mental note of whether to discard or keep under consideration from watching the video alone. Trust your gut instinct. By the time you get to the end of the videos for the artists we send, you will have eliminated some from consideration, and can then get more detailed in looking at the ones you kept.

What’s your favorite thing about what you do?
Helping the ECE roster improve processes, customer service, stage presentation, and other elements!

How did you get to where you are?
My sixteen years in professional music performance, management, booking, recording are marked by one relationship leading to two more, and those two leading to four more, etc. It’s all about relationships with clients and artists.

What’s something every couple should know before getting married?
You’ll never regret hiring experienced professionals—no matter the vendor category.

What’s your go-to spot to eat in RVA?
Lunch / Supper. It’s right around the corner from the studio. Dana is awesome! (Rick is okay, too). My wife and I like bringing the baby and pup for brunch.

What was your first job?
Summer helper on a Heidelberg 4 color printing press at Commercial Printing Company in Birmingham, AL. My Dad had the same job when he was in high school.

What did you eat for breakfast this morning?
Skipped it to interview a potential nanny!

What do you like to do when you are away from work?
I play in a band called Three Sheets to the Wind. I guess that is technically still work, but it’s a lot of fun.

Where is your happy place?
Jordan-Hare Stadium, watching Auburn give all of us heart attacks. Can’t we just get ahead and stay ahead every now and then?

What’s the coolest thing you’re working on now?
Friday Cheers 2019 schedule! I can’t say who we have booked, but I can say they’re all killer.

What would be in your dream sandwich?
Jason Alley’s pimiento cheese would be involved. That stuff has tarragon in it! I’ve tried to make it at home.

What about nachos?
Lizano sauce from Costa Rica.

What’s your go-to dance move?
As I tell my wife all the time, I’m a better-than-average swing dancer.
