The Road to the Wedding
Abbey and Tyson first met in May of 2014, where they hit it off immediately. Fast forward almost two years later and the two found themselves in Chicago for Abbey’s birthday. Abbey explains, “The weekend was filled with lots of surprises, including tickets to Lollapalooza where my girl crush Ellie Goulding was playing Sunday evening.” Before the festival, Tyson wanted to walk back to the pier where the two had been the day before, looking for fish. Reluctantly Abbey followed because she was ready for the show! It was on that pier that Tyson asked Abbey to be his forever. “Obviously, once I realized it wasn’t a joke, I said YES!” The two shared a glass of champagne, a gift from a nearby boat party and headed to the festival to celebrate!

The Details
“I never thought I’d have a wedding in December, I’m a Florida girl and can’t stand the cold! However, it was the only date the venue had available.” The two went with it and fully embraced a romantic, wintery, and chic theme. For their colors, they had muted shades of lilac which worked perfectly with the winter theme without being too “Christmas-y”

“Our flowers were done by a dear friend and chosen based on the season.” They hung garland for the ceremony to help tie in the theme. “Even though it was December, we lucked out with pretty mild weather so the outdoor ceremony still worked fine.” The two had blankets at the beginning so folks could bundle up, and there was a fire outside the cocktail and ceremony.

Their winter night ended in a dance party as Abbey and Tyson celebrated their love with their closest family and friends.

“Can’t pick one thing! Everything was amazing from having our families together to having all of our friends share a meal with us, to the dancing!”
