How They Met
Edina and Seth first met in 2007 when they both were in high school. They met through a mutual friend, but soon enough Edina and Seth became best friends. Edina explains, “We were best friends before we started dating!”

The Proposal
Seth and Edina dated all through high school and college. Then they were long distance while Edina finished dental school at VCU and Seth moved to Chicago for optometry school. During a visit up to Chicago in 2016, Seth asked Edina to spend the rest of her life with him and she said, “Yes!”

The Details
The moment Edina and Seth walked onto the property at The Mill at Fine Creek, they knew it was fate. Along with the different ceremony options, they loved having a variety of local beer!

“We wanted a summer wedding that looked simple, clean, and elegant.” Since they were getting married in the middle of August, they kept their colors light with blush pink, gray, and leaf green.

The happy couple wanted the ceremony site to really WOW their guests. The site was magical with a heavy timber pergola surrounded by a garden lush with a variety of trees and flowers. “Seth and I also loved having a unity candle to represent two lives becoming one; two families joining together. We felt that action was louder than words.”

For their flowers, they used a variety of blooms and greenery to give a soft, loose, and airy feel. They continued their bright and clean theme into their reception with white, cream, and pink linens. “Each table number had a photo of Seth and me at that age.”

Thanks to the flip-flops the couple provided, their late summer night ended in an epic dance party. Guests were sent home with Edina’s grandmother’s famous baklava, the perfect treat to end the perfect day.

Favorite Part of the Day
“Seth and I decided that we wanted to write our vows and share them with each other during our first look. We loved being able to share this moment just between the two of us.”

Biggest Challenge
“Staying organized during the planning phase was very difficult but so important. I would stress to any bride that being organized makes the whole planning process so much more enjoyable!”

Best Piece of Advice
“Enjoy having people you love from all aspects of your life in one room. Weddings are not about every detail going perfectly. They are about being surrounded by people who are willing to help and support you when something goes wrong. Believe me, something will go differently than planned, but don’t sweat the small stuff!”
